What’s usually not covered in our heat pump home warranty

To set clear expectations and avoid surprises, here is what typically falls outside standard coverage:

• Non-central equipment: Window units, portable space heaters and room-only units are not included; we focus on whole-home systems.

• Pre-existing conditions: Serious issues that were present before your plan starts. If you are concerned, we recommend a quick inspection before enrolling.

• Improper installation or modifications: Coverage assumes professional installation. Code upgrades, design changes or non-standard modifications are not included.

• Lack of routine maintenance: Claims may be denied for neglect such as severely clogged filters, blocked outdoor coils or skipped basic maintenance. Keep records from your HVAC technician.

• Major ductwork changes or full replacements: We limit this to basic repairs needed to complete a covered HVAC fix.

• Cosmetic damage and accessories: Cosmetic issues and add-on accessories are not covered.
